Distance Mentorship

NYA is looking for volunteer mentors who are interested in supporting Northern Youth. If you have an area of interest or knowledge that might be beneficial to share, or if you just have a passion for helping youth, we want to hear from you!

Who can be a Mentor?

Anyone can be a mentor! If you feel like you can help a young person (15-25) navigate new situations and projects, or can provide support for that youth, you can be a mentor. If you have experience or skills that you think you could bring to the team let us know in the application.

How would the process work?

Fill out the application below, and we’ll be in touch. The mentorship is REMOTE, meaning you just need an email and/or phone. We have a few projects that we need mentors for, so exactly what you’ll be mentoring for might be determined later. The NYA Staff will be here to train you and give you resources, as well as support you and answer any questions you might have throughout the process.

How much time do I need to commit?

We would need you to be available for around 1-4 hours per month. This time commitment would be flexible depending on your availability but would be over a period of several months.
