Right now the Northern Compass team is working with students and youth from across the territories (Nunavut, NWT, and Yukon) to get the resources, guidance, and support they need to be successful in their next transitions.

Cohort 2024

Are you heading to or returning to post-secondary this fall? Sign up to be part of the Northern Compass cohort, a network of learners from the North in college, university and trades. You’ll receive check-ins, student support, workshops, resources, individual help, and more throughout the year! 25 spots available for the 2024-25 school year – first-come, first-served.

Application Fees

We don’t want application fees to post-secondary to be a barrier to students. Northern Compass can cover the costs of applications to college, university, or trades (up to a certain amount). Sign up below.

School supplies

Having the right school supplies can help you succeed. Request a pack of school supplies and you will receive a notebook, pencil case, pens, pencils, highlighters, etc. If you need something specific, please let us know.

Peer Mentorship

Sign up to be part of our Peer Mentor program! This is for upper year students who would like to support others, and lower year students who would like to be paired with a mentor. Open to any students from Nunavut, the NWT and Yukon!

Tutoring

Anyone from Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, or Yukon can access virtual tutors through Northern Compass. A tutor can help with school work, assignments, getting ready for tests, better understanding of learning materials, essay writing – and anything else that can help you succeed!

We run virtual and in-person events and activities for Northern students – no matter where you are studying. If you are signed up with Northern Compass, check your inbox, we send out regular emails with upcoming events and activities. All are free to join.
