My name is Qunguliq and I am from Clyde river, Nunavut. For NYA I am in North Bay Ontario to volunteer at the Indigenous hub/day care and I am loving it so far! We have been going to other places on the weekends and I am looking forward for more trips when I am done with my high school.

I am so happy that I applied for NYA because I am doing so many different things that I wouldn’t do back home. It’s been soo hot out, I did a mini roller coaster for the first time on Sunday and I will definitely not doing it again in my whole entire life😂 I was laughing and crying at the same time on it and I don’t know how I felt but it was scary and fun at the same time.
If anyone reading this I encourage you to apply because there are so many things you can do with NYA such as volunteering, shopping, go to other places if you are lucky, and much more. You may feel homesick at first but I tell you it will be worth it! I get homesick at times but it gets away in no time and I look forward for another day because it’s always a different day after the bad days<3
I cherish every moment while I’m here and I will be looking forward for everything that will happen while I’m still in North Bay. I love my Host Family and my placement buddy, they have been by my side the whole time I’m here and I am so grateful that they are welcoming me since I came to North Bay.

Qunguliq;
Although I’ve been in the Northwest Territories for 17 years now, North Bay is my hometown!
I am so happy that you have landed there and are enjoying your stay.
